Reuters photographer Edgard Garrido is one of the few reporters who was able to get inside the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa to see ousted president Manuel Zelaya, who had just snuck back into Honduras after nearly three months in exile. Garrido, along with about 60 Zelaya supporters, has been living, working and sleeping in the embassy alongside Zelaya, who has been trying to return to the presidency since he was ousted. Garrido was there when authorities tried driving out Zelaya and supporters with tear gas and sonic sound blasts. Check out his superb photos and blog here. If there’s any doubt about the use of sonic sound blasts, Garrido snapped a a shot of red-handed authorities using the sound blaster. Curiously, Garrido doesn’t mention Zelaya’s allegations that authorities also tried using “electromagnetic radiation” and “toxic gas” on Zelaya and his supporters.
